More Than Dumplings
Papa Chiang's didn't begin as a business. It began with watching my parents slow down.
For decades, my father cooked. His journey started in Shanghai and continued in New York, where he immigrated in the 1980s and opened Happy Family, a Chinese restaurant in Hell's Kitchen. When health issues made it impossible for him to continue working, something inside of him went quiet.
Making dumplings again changed that. What began as a favor became Papa Chiang's—an invite-only, pre-order passion project from 2015 to 2020. Now, ten years after I sent out the first order form, I'm continuing the story.
Papa Chiang's has always been about more than dumplings. It's about memory, purpose, and belonging—and creating space for people to know they still matter.

We announce our pre-order drops 48 hours in advance via email, SMS, and socials. Orders available for limited time.
We Make Your Batch
Your dumplings are made to order. For this first run, we're targeting mid-June and will keep you posted. Thank you for being part of our first run!
Delivery or Pick Up
Choose delivery. Flat rate within 25 miles of Manhattan or free pickup.
